The Dew Drop Inn is an award winning gastropub
located just off the N7 in Kill Co Kildare.

Our History

The Dew Drop Inn was taken over in 2007 by Ronan Kinsella and Paul Lenehan who also own & operate Hartes of Kildare in Kildare Town, The Ballymore Inn in Ballymore Eustace & Firecastle Artisan Grocers & Cafe in Kildare Town

With over 40 years experience in hospitality between them Ronan & Paul first met when they worked together as part of the pre-opening team at the Millrace Hotel in Bunclody.

Full of passion and drive for the industry, in 2005 they made the leap and went in to business for themselves. Almost 20 years on and theirs is a friendship and business partnership that became family when Ronan married Paul’s sister.

With 7 children between them family is firmly at the heart of this business. Today their passion for the industry is as strong as it was in 2005 and together with their dedicated team they are constantly working on new ideas such as expanding their own range of craft beers, and their restaurant quality ready meal range while ensuring that they offer their staff a rewarding working environment and their customers a memorable dining experience.

Head Chef – Alex Adams

Alex Adams has been a member of the Harte’s family since 2013, joining us as Sous to the head chef in Hartes before transferring to The Dew Drop as Head Chef in 2019.

Alex originally from the Cotswolds in the UK earnt his Degree in Culinary Arts from Birmingham College of Food & Tourism. While he completed his Degree, he had the opportunity to work and study at Big Ceder Lodge in the US, which inspired him to combine his passion for food and travel! After graduating he was bitten by the travel bug and took a job with the Cunard Cruise Line.

Alex worked onboard MS Caronia for 2 years, where he gained a vast wealth of experience in culinary disciplines and diverse cultural cuisines while also traveling around the world. Alex decided to move to Ireland after meeting his wife Joanna onboard Ms Caronia and has three sons who also share in his passion for food.

Alex loves creating menus and exciting daily specials using sustainable Irish produce while inspiring and continuing to teach and learn from his strong team in the kitchen.
